One of our favorite traditions is getting the family together to play games on Christmas Eve. Start your own Christmas Eve tradition with any of these Fun Family Games!
(They also make excellent gifts and stocking stuffers!)
10. MONOPOLY DEAL
This fast-paced Monopoly card game is great for the whole family–yes, we did say fast paced! The object of the game is to collect and steal properties from your opponents. You can use action cards to things like charge rent, swap cards, and even demand birthday money! Monopoly Deal is the perfect spin on the classic game.

9. SCUM
This classic card game is a family favorite. Each player is given a social status (from President, Vice President, etc. to Scum). You strategically move your way up into the upper crests of society by dethroning the president. You can play as many rounds as you’d like–and you get to refer to one of your family members as “scum” for 10 minutes without getting in trouble!

8. BEANBOOZLED
If you have kids in your family, this game is a must. Jelly Belly’s had great success with Harry Potter’s “Every Flavor Beans”–but in this game for jelly bean roulette, you don’t know if you’re getting buttered popcorn or rotten egg (which remarkably look the same). The giggles and memories that Bean Boozled bring are definitely worth a yucky jelly bean every once in a while!

7. SPLATTER FACE
You may have seen this on Facebook or YouTube, because thanks to the Three Stooges, pies in the face will never not be funny! Just squirt some cool whip on the pie splatting hand and spin the wheel to see how many times you have to turn the handle (which may or may not trigger the mini catapult to whip cream your face).
If you’re not into whipped cream, Splatter Face also comes with a sponge you can wet to give yourself a similar (but less sticky) sensation! This is another great one for families–who wouldn’t want to see Grandma laugh when Grandpa gets whip cream to the face!

6. MOUTHGUARD CHALLENGE
Another social media favorite, Mouth Guard Challenge is hilarious to watch, film, and play! There are a few different versions of it, but the one we have at Porter’s is said to be more challenging than others. What you do is put in the mouth guard and say the prompted phrase (you’d be surprised at how little you can understand someone who can’t put their lips together!). The other players have to guess what you’re saying. Mouth Guard Challenge comes with over fifty challenges, revenge cards, and 6 mouth guards. You’ll definitely want to play this with your family and friends.

5. WITS & WAGERS
Breaking the record as the most award winning party game, Wits and Wagers is an exciting trivia gamble. A fun question is read, and everyone writes a guess as to what the answer may be. Then you place bets–if you’re confident in your answer, you bet for yourself. If you think someone else knows better; you should bet on them. If you have no idea, you can bet on anyone’s guess and maybe you’ll be lucky! Wits and Wagers is a fun game to play with the old and young in your family over the holidays.

4. TICKET TO RIDE & EXPANSIONS
This game has boomed into international popularity in the past decade. It’s fun, creative, and strategic. Each player chooses cards to claim railroad routes from across the country. The classic one is the Untied States map — but we have several fun expansion packs here at Porter’s! We have a Ticket to Ride for Asia, India, Nordic, Nederlands, Germany, Europe and even a Europa 1912 and 1910 version for your favorite history buffs!

3. TELESTRATIONS
This game is a family favorite because it usually ends with hysterical laughter. Each player is given a dry erase sketch book, marker, and clean-up cloth and chooses a word (choose from over 1,700 words!) to draw out; no artistic skills required. When your classic sand timer runs out, each player passes their drawing for the next person to guess what they drew. The player who the guess is passed to must draw the (hopefully, but usually not) “matching” word and so on. Creativity and possibilities are endless with Telestrations!

1. 5 MINUTE DELIVERY BIG CITY STARTER SET
Guess what? This game was actually invented in our very own Rexburg!! 5 Minute Delivery is great for families with busy schedules because it only takes five minutes to play! Everyone plays at the same time with no turns. The character you play is a goblin postal worker, who tries to deliver as many of his or her packages to as many little goblins in the five minutes they’ve been given. The routes and game board change every time you play. We love to support local small businesses here at Porter’s, and this is a very fun way to do just that!
